As the crescent moon marked the end of Ramzan, millions of Muslims across India came together on Monday to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with prayers, reflection, and festivities. From bustling cities to quiet towns, mosques and Eidgahs witnessed large gatherings as devotees offered Namaz, seeking blessings for peace and prosperity.

In Delhi, thousands assembled at the iconic Jama Masjid, dressed in their finest attire, to offer Eid prayers in an atmosphere of unity and devotion. Mumbai saw similar celebrations at the Juma Masjid Mahim Dargah, where families and friends rejoiced in the spirit of togetherness. In Patna, the sprawling Gandhi Maidan was filled with worshippers, reflecting the significance of the occasion.

Bhopal’s celebrations took on a unique tone as some devotees wore black bands in protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill, blending religious observance with political expression. However, the spirit of Eid prevailed as prayers and festivities continued in full swing.

Markets across India—from the lively streets of Charminar in Hyderabad to the vibrant bazaars near Kolkata’s Nakhoda Masjid—were adorned with colorful lights and bustling with shoppers purchasing traditional clothing, sweets, and gifts. Vendors catered to the festive rush, offering everything from perfumes to dry fruits, adding to the excitement in the air.

Eid-ul-Fitr, which translates to the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is a time of gratitude, generosity, and joy. After a month of fasting during Ramadan, the festival serves as an opportunity for charity and compassion, with many giving Zakat and supporting the less fortunate.

As prayers echoed across the nation and families gathered to celebrate, Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 was a testament to India’s rich cultural fabric, emphasizing unity, kindness, and the enduring spirit of faith.
